Lexie Kock
I know what it feels like to face challenges that seem impossible to overcome. I know what it feels like to carry the weight of the past while trying to build a future.
I was born Alexis Duffey in 1992 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and later adopted, becoming Alexis Niemeijer. My early childhood was shaped by family conflict, addiction, and unhealthy dynamics. After my parents’ divorce, I moved to the Netherlands at age three.
A Childhood Marked by Struggle
My family’s generational trauma went largely unnoticed. Because of this, I was passed from doctor to doctor, psychologist to psychiatrist, while the root causes of my family difficulties remained unaddressed.
The Adverse Childhood Experiences test measures negative experiences in childhood, including abuse, neglect, and family dysfunction. Higher scores greatly increase the risk of health and psychosocial challenges later in life. My score? 9 out of 10. Statistically, my life should be in ruins.
At school, I was bullied. It was as if people could smell the adversity on me, and I felt like an outsider everywhere I went. I struggled academically, changed schools frequently, and grew increasingly afraid of failing. Everything came to a head when I was unable to graduate from high school with my class.
From Adversity to Resilience
After a troubled start, I also discovered profound resilience. I graduated from the International Baccalaureate program with the second highest score in my class and went on to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Autonomous Fine Arts. In the corporate world, I found a surprising talent for creativity, collaboration, and perseverance, quickly advancing within the organisation.
Today, I am mentally and physically healthy. I do not smoke or drink, I take no medication, and I have broken the cycle of generational trauma. I enjoy deep friendships and meaningful work, and I live a balanced life with my husband and our two children. Together, we have built a self-sufficient and fulfilling life through entrepreneurship, free from reliance on traditional systems.
My life’s mission is to pay it forward, sharing the lessons, time, and guidance I have received with the generations to come.
So, What Changed?
Through one-on-one coaching and transformative training, I discovered the tools and the space to heal, to reflect, and to grow. I survived because I carried a strong survival instinct, a future-focused mindset, and people who loved me even when life was hard.
We once lived in small, tight-knit communities, sharing stories of hardship and triumph so the next generation could learn from our collective mistakes. Today, much of that wisdom has been lost or diluted with empty content, leaving many of us to live life without any guidance. Not everyone is blessed with stable and healthy teachers.
Today, I am here to offer what I once needed myself: guidance from someone who has walked the same path you are on, someone who understands because they have been there. I know the fear, the doubt, and the weight of walking alone. I also know that change is possible, because I lived it.
Now, it’s your turn to take the steps that matter.
